Well, the season ended on a high. The FA Cup victory at the new Wembley
Stadium gave Chelsea a unique place in football folklore. In beating Manchester
Utd, Chelsea became the last side to win the trophy at the old Wembley and the
first to win it at the new stadium.

In winning both the League and FA Cups, Chelsea also became the first English
side to win two domestic trophies in the same season at different stadiums. As

By the time Watford’s relegation was confirmed weeks before the season had
ended, fans had already started to look towards the delights of Championship
football once again.  For many the end of the season could not come soon enough

Chelsea’s Premiership hopes came to an end with a 1-1 draw at the Emirates
with Arsenal. There were, however, no tears as José Mourinho’s men – reduced to
10 with the sending-off of Khalid Boulahrouz – showed immense spirit, resilience
and strength of character to come from a goal behind, level and then so very
nearly win it – Joe Cole was never offside!
