Why Everton fans deserve so much BETTER

Joe Jennings cannot
understand what is happening at his beloved
Everton and feels that David Moyes, as well as the fans, deserve so much
more.

David Moyes has always been a man of integrity, frankness
and total professionalism. Yet chitchat continues to gather speed that the
Glaswegian is slowly losing his patience – and who could blame him?

We as a club are in a muddle; now to some this could be
branded doom mongering, to others woefully pessimistic- but what have the club
provided to supply the fans with optimism- nothing would be the answer. I
prefer not to dress up our current predicament as one of imminent activity-
it's easier to comment on how it truly is.

The playing squad proves gradually more threadbare, funds
non-existent and a manager who's future looks increasingly uncertain. Yet what
do we ask of the hierarchy at Goodison Park? Honesty, openness, aspiration – a
combination of all three?

Now I would consider myself as an eternal optimist- yet even
my tolerance is rapidly deteriorating. Last season was magnificent, one that
can be looked back on with pride and admiration. In spite of this, replicating
last season's accomplishments, currently – on more than one front – will prove
incredibly demanding, impossible in truth.

David Moyes – through his continual managerial growth – was
the basis of such success, yet he is treated so appallingly, quite frankly,
nobody could blame David Moyes if he walked out tomorrow, it would be
completely within his rights.

Why are we ALWAYS left in the dark, saturating forums and
pondering the endless outcomes? I find it loathsome, unnecessary and bluntly
undeserved.

David Moyes deserves better, Everton supporters deserve
better, even the players deserve better. How much more can Moyes take – forget
the wise chosen words he regularly opts for – he is the reason why Everton have
become a force to be reckoned with again – everything else, in my opinion, proves
inconsequential.

The ink seems no nearer to dabbing the contract, nor will it
be in the foreseeable future, if positive moves aren't moved. Surely, one would
assume, this is self-explanatory? David Moyes is not a brainless man, evidently
his stock has risen since taking over at Everton, he is not in a dire
predicament with regards to future employability prospect – this must be
considered. While he insists it is almost "tied up", to many the hidden message
is clear – show me the money and the contract will be signed.

Time is definitely ticking, not only for fresh players to
don the royal blue jersey, but for manager David Moyes to commit to a club that
despite his obvious affinity towards is causing him noticeable anguish.
Progress has proved rapid under Moyes; we would all hope this will continue to
be the case. But he is not a miracle worker and players are needed promptly to
ensure this summer of annoyance can be suitably retrieved into one of
accomplishment.
