Manchester City striker Craig Bellamy could miss Wales' friendly against Poland because of a swollen knee.

The Wales captain missed training on Monday and will be left out of John Toshack's starting line-up if he fails to recover in time to take part in Tuesday's session.

Toshack said: "Bellamy's knee is swollen. He travelled down from Manchester by road on Sunday and, by the time he got here, his knee was causing him problems.

"It was no better when he woke up on Monday. He's keen to play if he can get enough treatment but we'll have to be very careful with him. There's no point taking any chances.

"But the fact he's here with us shows he wants to play, he doesn't want to stop now he's in such good form."

Toshack has already lost James Collins, Jason Koumas and Simon Davies from his squad for the game.
