ANALYSIS

MATCH:

It's very
difficult to see past a home win here. Man Utd have won nine on the bounce and
lost just once in twenty five games. Edwin Van Der Saar has kept fourteen clean
sheets in a row which now stretches to 1302 minutes of football. He requires
one more clean sheet to add the European record to his British one. However,
the fact that Utd have a Champions league fixture away at Inter Milan on
Tuesday cannot be ignored.

Blackburn
sit just a point off the bottom of the table and have a terrible record at Old
Trafford. Rovers have dropped more points at Old Trafford than any other team
in the Premiership era. They have also not won in fifteen games against the big
four. Blackburn have failed to score away from home in the Premiership since
November and it is hard to see them preventing Van Der Saar from claiming the
European record for consecutive clean sheets.

GOALS:

Both United
and Blackburn have fairly high goal averages with Utd home games averaging 2.7
goals per game and Blackburn away games averaging 2.8 goals per game. However,
I think that United's trip to Italy next week will have a big influence on the
number of goals in this game. There is a good chance that Alex Ferguson will
rotate his squad after playing Fulham on Wednesday. If they are leading in the
latter stages he may also withdraw his most important players to keep them
fresh. Blackburn have drawn their last two away games 0-0 and will go to Old Trafford
with a very defensive game plan. Consequently, I am expecting a narrow win for
United with 1-0 and 2-0 very likely scores.

Under 2.5
goals is available at odds against and I think it is a little bit of value.
Four of United's last six home games have featured two goals or less. Seven of
the last eleven meetings between the two sides have also featured two goals or
less, including the last three

GOALSCORERS:

It is only
really worth looking at Utd players here and not many stand out as any value.
If I had to pick out one player then I'd go for Vidic at 20/1 with Coral and
William Hill. He is suspended for the trip to the San Siro and sure to play the
whole game against Blackbrun. Vidic has also scored four times for United in
the league already this season.
