There seems more to this Newcastle RUMOUR than meets the eye
Football FanCast columnist Jim
McKendry wonders if there were more
to these Ramos rumours than meets the eye.
When Juande
Ramos came out and mentioned that he has been approached to manage once again
in the Premier League, you didn't have to be a member of Mensa to realise as to
which club he was referring.
It all adds up and to be honest this whole potential move for Juande to
takeover in the summer looks extremely likely, especially when you take on
board the major players involved.
I have a
huge amount of respect for Mike Ashley for coming in when he did and bailing us
out, but he seems intent is keeping his close knit group around him and those
whose presence has upset supporters in the past. Is it any coincidence that the
man who brought Ramos to Tottenham, the much maligned Tony Jimenez, maybe
playing some role in it? Being that it is highly likely that Gus Poyet would
work alongside Ramos is certainly would prove highly convenient considering one
of his best pals is Wise. Wouldn't the appointment of Ramos the perfect way to
bring the old brigade back together?
Don't get
wrong I think Ramos is an excellent manager and if you take away his time at
Tottenham in the last months, he was doing a decent job under tough conditions,
which included some silverware within four months of his arrival. His track
record in Spain is excellent, hence why he was bought in on a temporary basis
by Real Madrid and I really believe his philosophy's of how he wants his teams
to play football is well suited to Newcastle United. However my fear is that if
he was to take on the job, then all the components and key players that I
mentioned will be back at the club. I would take Ramos as manager, but not with
this entourage in tow.
So would you like to see Ramos being
offered the Newcastle job in the summer, or should Ashley look elsewhere?
