Wenger should take advantage of fire sale and BID for Spanish ace!

With a reported debt of around 450m
euros hanging over their heads and creditors set to come calling there is no
doubt that we are likely to bear witness to a fire sale of epic proportions at
Valencia this summer.
The Spanish club of
course do have plenty of assets and the very fact that Manchester City is
willing to pay in excess of £50m will certainly take a nice chunk of that debt
away, but the likelihood is that many more will have to make away to take that
pressure away. There are plenty of rich pickings to be had and it is absolute
given that clubs will look to take advantage of the situation and try and tempt
the Spaniards to sell with cut price bids.
According to reports
in the media this week Arsenal is one of those clubs who are closely monitoring
the situation and following on from last week's link with David Silva, the
Spanish defender/midfielder Raul Albiol is the latest name to be linked with a
summer move to the Emirates.
The Spaniard is
extremely versatile and given that he has the ability to play at either centre
half or the much needed defensive midfield role makes it an appealing option
for Wenger as he looks to strengthen a squad that has seriously underperformed
this season. The very fact that Wenger is likely to get him for under the going
rate, given the crisis at the club will also appeal to the financial conscious Frenchman.
Albiol is a tough no nonsense footballer whose grit and determination is
arguably something that Arsenal has lacked since Flamini's departure. He would
provide an ideal foil for Fabregas and free him up, something Cesc seemingly
lacked prior to his injury as he struggled to adapt alongside Denilson; Albiol
would give him that license and certainly in my eyes would be the ideal
complement to his fellow countryman.
Would Arsenal fans like to see Albiol at the
Emirates or do you feel that Arsene Wenger should be looking elsewhere?
