Cahill recovery on schedule
Everton are confident that Tim Cahill will have recovered from a calf strain in time to feature against Wigan Athletic.
The Australia international missed Saturday's 2-1 defeat at Portsmouth with the problem and is currently on international duty as the Socceroos prepare for a World Cup qualifier against Ubezkistan.
Head physio Mick Rathbone told the club's official website:"He picked up a calf strain in the first half of the game against Stoke, so we took him off at half-time.
"He didn't recover in time for Portsmouth. It's difficult because we've got a lot of injuries and it's so tempting to chuck the players back in too soon.
"Obviously he's gone away with the Australian guys. They'll evaluate it over there and hopefully he'll come back and be available for the Wigan game.
"It wasn't such a serious injury but muscle strains take time. I know the Australian medical people well, and I know they'll look after him in the right way."
Meanwhile, Joseph Yobo should have recovered from a hamstring strain in time to play in the FA Cup semi-final against Manchester United.
James Vaughan and Nuno Valente have returned to full training while right-back Tony Hibbert is expected to follow their lead next week.
