Australia international Mark Viduka could make his first appearance for Newcastle United since last month's defeat at Bolton when the Magpies take on Tottenham this weekend.

The 33-year-old striker has endured another injury-ravaged campaign with a troublesome Achilles problem blighting his season.

However, Alan Shearer told the club's official website:"Mark's in the squad and will travel with us.

"He's been in full training this week and it will be a boost to have him back."

Steven Taylor and Peter Lovenkrands could also feature at White Hart Lane after recovering from injury with Shearer adding:"Both Steven and Peter will return to full training on Friday. We'll monitor their fitness and we're hopeful.

"However, Fabricio (Coloccini) picked up a knock in training.

"We haven't ruled him out of the Spurs match though and we'll monitor his situation."
