The possibility of Emmanuel Adebayor leaving Arsenal and moving to AC Milan this summer seems more likely after Rossoneri vice-president Adriano Galliani confirmed he was interested in signing the striker.

Milan remain keen to sign Wolfsburg striker Edin Dzeko but will turn their attention towards the Togo international if they are unable to land their first-choice target.

Galliani was quoted as saying:"Adebayor is the alternative to Edin Dzeko and I have called Arsenal to inform them of our interest.

"I spoke to Arsene Wenger and Adebayor was part of the conversation."

Earlier in the week the player's agent was unsure what the future held for his client.

Stephane Courbis insisted:"I don't know whether Ade is for sale. I spoke with Arsene Wenger on Tuesday morning, but he didn't say anything to that effect.

"I haven't even spoken about the alleged interest of Chelsea and Manchester United.

"The player would like to work with Carlo Ancelotti. It's a fact because Milan tried to acquire him last year, but Chelsea have not contacted us."
