Birmingham City co-owner David Sullivan is happy with the progress his club have made in the transfer market ahead of their return to the Premier League.

The Blues have already snapped up Ecuador striker Christian Benitez and Coventry City defender Scott Dann and have several other targets in their sights.

Sullivan told the club's official website:"We have signed two or three players up to now and we are working on signing half a dozen more.

"It does take time, but we have started quicker than most. You get all sorts of problems signing players these days – it is not as simple as it was, with agents involved, visas and work permits.

"We hope by the middle of July to sign most of the players we plan to sign, so we then have got a month to bed them in before the start of the season.

"I don't want to be signing players in the middle of August and panicking before transfer deadline. We are forward planners and we hope to have it all in place."
