Wolves chairman Steve Morgan remains confident of signing Kevin Doyle despite Bolton Wanderers joining the race to land the Reading striker.

The £6.5million-rated Republic of Ireland international is reportedly set to decide which Premier League club to join, but Morgan is upbeat about a potential deal.

He said:"I'm very confident that we're signing players at the right level and age to come to the club and bring competition for places.

"Kevin Doyle is a quality player and all the players we're talking to are quality players.

"We're still hoping to sign two or three. If someone like him becomes available, then we have to be interested.

"We had a number of players lined up for specific positions and we're having very constructive talks with several players at the moment.

"I'd like to think we'll make further announcements in the next week or two."
