Cottagers interested in Berg
Fulham are interested in signing Marcus Berg, according to the Sweden striker's current club FC Groningen.
Berg's stock has risen on the back of a superb European Under-21 Championship.
The 22-year-old striker finished the tournament on home soil as the seven-goal winner of the Golden Boot.
Berg has been similarly prolific in the Eredivisie after scoring 33 goals during 56 appearances for the Dutch club and his exploits for club and country have alerted the attention of both Fulham and Bundesliga side Hamburg.
"We received a fax from Fulham saying they wanted to speak with us about Marcus Berg," revealed club director Hans Nijland.
"We've spoken with HSV (Hamburg) and had contact by telephone. But their interest is not really concrete at the moment.
"The initiative should now come from HSV. We'll wait and see what happens.
"We can't deny that something's going on, clearly, but at the moment it's quite vague.
"It could be that Berg will play at FC Groningen next season and we'd be very happy if that was the case."
