Stoke City have agreed a transfer fee with Monaco for Seyi Olofinjana and the Nigeria international will now open contract talks with the French side.

The 29-year-old failed to impress last season following his transfer from Wolves and could now be heading to Monaco for £2.5million.

Meanwhile, Potters boss Tony Pulis has hinted that a new striker is at the top of his summer wish-list.

There has been very little transfer activity at the Britannia Stadium since the end of last season, but that could all be about to change.

Pulis told The Sentinel:"Ricardo Fuller's coming back from injury, but I'm looking for another striker if possible. We want someone who's going to threaten in behind and do things.

"We're a few players short, but we're working on it.

"Dave Kitson's doing well and some of our link-up play has been very good. James Beattie's an experienced pro who looks as though he's going to be in a good position."
