Fulham goalkeeper Mark Schwarzer has put pen to paper on a one-year contract extension at Craven Cottage.

The Australian will now remain with the west London outfit until the end of the 2010/11 season.

The 36-year-old has been a revelation for Roy Hodgson's side since arriving last summer, becoming an ever-present for the Cottagers last season.

Schwarzer's form also saw him win the club's player of the year award ahead of form peers like Brede Hangeland, Danny Murphy, Erik Nevland and Andrew Johnson.

The former Middlesbrough shot-stopper is set to line up for Fulham in their Premier League season opener at Portsmouth on Saturday.
