Wenger expects last minute deals
Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has hinted he will look to conduct his main business in the closing days of the summer transfer window.
Wenger has lost striker Emmanuel Adebayor and defender Kolo Toure to Manchester City during the close season and has added only Belgium defender Thomas Vermaelen to his squad.
The Gunners have been linked with a host of replacements including Bordeaux's Moroccan striker Marouane Chamakh, Fulham defender Brede Hangeland and former captain Patrick Vieira.
But despite the speculation, Wenger insists he remains in no rush to bolster his squad.
"We make a few enquires for players but we are nowhere near to signing anybody at the moment," explained the Frenchman.
"Usually the transfer market speeds up from August 26 up to midnight on 31st – especially in the last two hours."
Meanwhile, Wenger has admitted that Philippe Senderos is likely to leave the Emirates Stadium following interest in the Swiss defender from Everton.
"There is an interest from Everton, but he is still our player," he added.
"He has an opportunity to go because he only has one year left on his contract, so we will see what happens next week."
