Wolves have secured a major coup by signing Chelsea's England Under-21 defender Michael Mancienne on a season-long loan.

The versatile 21-year-old spent two months on loan at Molineux last season, helping the club secure the Championship title and a return to the English top-flight.

Mancienne has made a handful of first-team appearances for the Blues to date, while his only other senior experience came during a loan stay with Queens Park Rangers.

Wolves captain Jody Craddock expects Mancienne to make the most of his time at Molineux.

He told the Express & Star:"He'll be playing Premier League football here which will be fantastic for him, because we all saw what that did for Joleon Lescott.

"He started playing well for Everton, scored goals and he got himself into the England squad.

Michael has got every chance to prove himself here and do the same.

"That will be in his head, he's going to want to play and get himself noticed for the World Cup squad."
