Barnsley face holders as Liverpool visit the Emirates – Carling Cup Draw

Mark Robins, recently named as Barnsley‘s new manager, has been handed his perfect draw in the fourth round of the Carling Cup, after the Tykes were paired with the club where he spent most of his playing career, Manchester United.

Elsewhere, Arsenal will play Liverpool while Manchester City host Championship new boys Scunthorpe United.

Last season’s beaten finalists, Tottenham Hotspur, play Everton at White Hart Lane while Chelsea face Bolton Wanderers.

There is an all-Premier League clash on Wearside where Sunderland will play Aston Villa while Peterborough United have a tricky trip to Blackburn Rovers to look forward to.

Finally Portsmouth, without a point in the Premier League, but in the last 16 of the Carling Cup after beating Hereford United and Carlisle United, entertain Stoke City.

Blackburn Rovers v Peterborough United

Manchester City v Scunthorpe United

Tottenham Hotspur v Everton

Barnsley v Manchester United

Chelsea v Bolton Wanderers

Sunderland v Aston Villa

Arsenal v Liverpool

Portsmouth v Stoke City

The ties will be played on Tuesday 27 and Wednesday 28 October.
