Toffees wrap up Neill deal
Everton have completed the signing of free agent defender Lucas Neill on a one-year contract.
Neill, 31, has joined the Toffees to continue a Premier League career which has seen him play for Blackburn Rovers and West Ham United.
The Australia international full-back had been linked with a host of clubs both in England and Europe after deciding to leave the Hammers at the end of last season.
Neill, who began his career in England with Millwall, has been signed in time to make his debut in Sunday's meeting with former club Blackburn.
He is the fourth player after Diniyar Bilyaletdinov, Sylvain Distin and John Heitinga to join the Merseyside club on a permanent basis since the last campaign ended.
Toffees boss David Moyes moved swiftly to land Neill after discovering that Phil Neville is likely to be sidelined until the new year with knee ligament damage.
