Bolton Wanderers striker Johan Elmander is set for a spell on the sidelines due to a hamstring injury.

The 28-year-old Sweden international has struggled to make an impact since moving to England and suffered a new setback in a reserve outing against Wigan earlier this week.

Trotters boss Gary Megson confirmed:"It's a hamstring injury which could have been a lot worse – they call it a grade one.

"It's expected he will be out for seven to ten days, that's at best.

"We'll have to see, but he won't available for our game with Spurs at the weekend and I don't think he'll be available for Sweden's games either."

Elmander has scored just six goals in 36 appearances for Bolton since his club record £8.2million move from Toulouse in the summer of 2008.
