FIFA have cleared midfielder Marouane Fellaini to play for Everton against Wolverhampton Wanderers this weekend.

The 21-year-old missed Belgium's recent World Cup qualifier against Estonia to have a wisdom tooth removed, with the Belgian FA threatening to invoke the 'five-day' ruling to ensure that Fellaini did not play this weekend.

However, FIFA have now contacted the Toffees to tell them that Fellaini is clear to feature.

Everton's head of PR, Ian Ross, told the club's official website:"The Belgian FA did lodge an appeal with FIFA asking them to implement the five-day ruling.

"However, FIFA have contacted the club this morning to say that we have no case to answer and that we did comply fully with all necessary legislation.

"We are delighted with the news as Marouane will be available for selection on Saturday."
