It is extremely difficult for a player to jump on his chances if he hasn't been playing at the highest level. For Harry to really gauge his desire he needs to give Pavlyuchenko a run in the team. I don't think that will happen so I think Harry will let him go if Pav asks to leave. If Pav doesn't ask to leave I suspect Harry would be happy to have him as back up. The moment Crouch arrived it was always going to go this way. I doubt we would ever have know how good Pav could have been in a spurs shirt from that point on.
