Wayne Rooney hopes England can learn from the mistakes they made in Saturday's 1-0 World Cup qualifying defeat to Ukraine.

Serhiy Nazarenko scored the only goal in Dnepropetrovsk after Fabio Capello's side were forced to play with only ten men for 75 minutes

following Robert Green's red card.

Manchester United star Rooney said after the match:“Obviously we're disappointed. It was a difficult game us, especially being down to ten men so early on.

“I thought we fought hard and worked hard and that we had a few chances near the end to get an equaliser.

“Obviously we're disappointed we haven't won or got anything out of the game but we can learn from it and move on.”
