The one Arsenal rumour that refuses to subside

Yaya-ToureFootball FanCast guest columnist Jason Penrice wished the media would give this Yaya to Arsenal rumour a rest.

It is reported that “Arsenal are set to revive their interest in Barcelona’s .” That’s strange, I don’t remember Toure ever being a legitimate target for Arsenal; for someone’s figment of their imagination yes, an attempt to sell a story maybe, but for – I don’t think so.

If I had a pound for everytime the Ivorian has been linked with a move to the then I reckon I would have enough to buy the remaining percentage of shares that Stan needs to force a bid. It is absolutely relentless and not to mention tedious. I can understand when Kolo was here there was that whole ‘brothers in arms’ thing, link them up together, but despite big brother leaving for City they still can’t resist touting him back to North London.

Maybe I am mistaken and maybe Wenger has come out and suggested he likes the player (hardly original or anything new as there isn’t a player in the world that Wenger doesn’t admit to admiring), but if Arsene really believed in him then don’t the dopey journos think that the very fact he has already turned him down before, when he was on trial at the club, may well be an indicator that he doesn’t fancy him too much. I mean even if Arsene had realised he had made a mistake; the chances of him (being as stubborn as he is) admitting it and looking to rectify it at the cost of £12m is about as likely as Chas and Dave being forced out of retirement to strum up their own version of ‘we are the champions’ for the sorry lot up the Seven Sisters Rd – it ain’t going to happen and its time that sections of wake up to it, before wasting their valuable column inches on it.

Yaya Toure spent the 2005 pre season on trial at Arsenal, went on the pre season tour and took part in games as a trialist, but wasn’t signed primarily due to work permit problems, not because he didn’t rate the player. Since then Wenger has always said how highly he rates the player when asked about him, but that his club wouldn’t want to sell.

I agree that there are many lazy and dopey journalists in the tabloids, but you just make yourself look just as dopey writing an article without doing adequate research….

Not going to happen for two reason. 1) He’s off to ACN 2)We need a temporary DCM that doesn’t impede with Song’s progress and the young kids coming up(Eastmond Coquelin)….Not going to happen.

Let Yaya rather go to pair with his bros. Pls, lets not spark of exchane talk for Cesc with the yaya issue. I cant think of arsenal without cesc. Rather Arsen should go fo othe players not known as usual as cover for Song or to even rival song.

Yaya Toure? Useless. Too lazy for the English game. Never is Wenger going to spend 13million+ for Toure, when Matuidi (6million) or Sissoko (8million) are out there and are better long term prospects at the same position. I can’t see either of them coming actually either, not when you’ve got Coquelin, Eastmond, Nordveldt and even Gibbs who can all play in the DM role.

He’s going to buy another young centre defender i.e. Sahko or Subotic and another winger i.e. Hazard. Watch
