The perfect way to ensure a P45 at Old Trafford

Nani_Manchester_UnitedFootball FanCast columnist Jez Howard will not be sad to see the back of Nani.

I don’t know where I read it, but another website hit the nail on the head when they said that Nani had signed his own letter of resignation at Manchester United when he made his outburst against Sir Alex Ferguson and revealed his managerial traits. There was no need to say it and I’m certain it went down like a lead balloon at Old Trafford.

The whole subject of Nani has been debated many times and what he actually brings to the table, but I have always felt, like many do, that he is out of his depth at the football club and is never going to make the grade or hit the heights that his fellow countryman did in the seasons previous. Ronaldo feels that he is capable of filling his void at Old Trafford…sorry Cristiano, I beg to differ.

Unfortunately Nani falls into the same category that many others have like your Klebersons, Forlans and Verons of this world, who couldn’t handle the pressures of playing for Manchester United which meant the club never got the consistency in performances and subsequently led to their departures. It appears to me that Nani is going to go the same way and according to this morning’s reports both AC Milan and Juventus are lining up January moves.

I have to admit there isn’t a part of me that would be sorry to see him leave Old Trafford. It has nothing to do with the outburst, but more to the point that he doesn’t give the team anything different. Nani needs to ask himself as to why he was left out of those particular games, why he is not a first team regular and it will be only then that he moves on as a footballer. Maybe the slower pace of Serie A will be prove better for him and he will have a chance to fulfil this apparent potential. His time at United is over in my view and I feel a parting of the ways will prove the best move all round.
