West Ham United midfielder Valon Behrami has admitted he may look to leave Upton Park.

The £5million Switzerland international joined the Hammers from Lazio in July 2008 but has admitted that a move to a "bigger club" would be an appealing prospect.

"I know that the people at West Ham have confidence in me," said Behrami, who still has four years remaining on his existing contract.

"Maybe one day I will play for a bigger club than them.

"However, in order for me to do so, I will need to be at the peak of my abilities.

"I just play my football from day to day. There is no point in me talking about my medium-term future when I don't know what might happen tomorrow."

Behrami has made 32 Premier League appearances for the Hammers despite his first season in England being cut short by a serious knee ligament injury.
