Unhappy striker Benni McCarthy has revealed his intention to leave Blackburn Rovers when the transfer window reopens in January.
McCarthy, 31, has started just one Premier League game for the Ewood Park club this season and has spoken of his frustration at being out in the cold.
Speaking last week, Rovers boss Sam Allardyce suggested that he would be willing to sell the South Africa striker in January.
"In my opinion, I'm better than what I see out on the pitch in training, but unfortunately I have a coach that prefers a different style of football and I'm not the player that fits his description," said McCarthy.
"That's the only reason I'm not playing. If I had a coach who preferred a player who can hold the ball up and score goals then I would be first choice, but unfortunately he wants something different.
"I can't really be mad or angry about it but it just proves I need to move on."
Meanwhile, McCarthy has admitted that Portsmouth – where former Blackburn team-mate Aaron Mokoena is the captain – could be a possible transfer destination.
He added: "Portsmouth are going through a bad patch but are still a top side. I have discussed them with Aaron. There are other clubs in England and Europe that have shown interest in me too."
