Wolfsburg striker Edin Dzeko has suggested a move to AC Milan would be a more appealing prospect than joining reported suitors Manchester United.

The Bosnia striker has been linked with a move to Old Trafford after scoring 26 goals in his side's Bundesliga title-winning season last year.

The 23-year-old was also on the mark against United in a Champions League game in September.

However, Dzeko has hinted that a transfer to Italy with the Rossoneri would be his ideal career move.

He explained:"I recently spoke to Wolfsburg executives about it and they know that I would like a transfer next summer.

"The story with AC Milan is not over. I have been a fan of Milan since I was a child, when I watched their games on TV.

"It's for that reason that I really hope I can play next season there."
