Wolverhampton Wanderers striker Chris Iwelumo will be out of action for several weeks due to a recurrence of a foot injury.

The 31-year-old Scotland international made his first start of the season in the 2-2 draw with Stoke City last weekend, but had to be replaced with just under 20 minutes to go at the Britannia Stadium after a clash with home keeper Thomas Sorensen.

Boss Mick McCarthy told the club's official website:"Chris just got his foot planted during the game at Stoke and Christophe Berra and Thomas Sorensen fell on it.

"He's not broken it again, but it's just unsettled where the fracture is and the screw goes in so he'll be a few weeks out.

"He played well last week and I was delighted with him and to have him back had been a real bonus.

"It's sad for him because he'd got back and got his first Premier League start and had done well in the game."
