Wolves manager Mick McCarthy was undeterred by his team's 4-1 home defeat to Arsenal and believes such games are unlikely to determine whether his side is relegated this term.
The result left McCarthy's team in the bottom three and they have collected just three points from their last six matches with their next game being at Chelsea.
However, the Wolves boss is more interested in the battles ahead against teams that are likely to be in the relegation shake-up at the end of the season.
He said:"Our season won't be judged by games against Arsenal. We have Birmingham City coming up and this is the type of game we have to win.
"Hull City, West Ham United and Portsmouth are the teams in and around us and matches with them will be important.
"We have been ticking along okay but were well beaten in the end. We were outstanding for 30 minutes and took Arsenal on but mistakes have cost us.
"But I know the crowd appreciate the hard work the team put in and the way they tried to play."
