Returning chairman Adam Pearson insists that Phil Brown will stay on as manager despite Hull City's recent disappointing results.

Pearson was appointed executive chairman at the KC Stadium on Monday morning following his own departure from Derby County and last week's resignation of Paul Duffen.

He previously served as chairman of the Tigers for six years and despite the club currently languishing down in 18th place in the table, Pearson insists that Brown is staying on as manager.

"Phil is the manager of Hull City and he still will be next Sunday," he told the Hull Daily Mail.

"It's a results business but he retains my full support. I'll be there to provide as much support as is possible for the manager.

"I'll bring a fresh pair of eyes to it and hopefully, in conjunction with the manager, we can turn things around on the pitch."

Brown's position has come under the spotlight following Hull's disappointing start to the season coupled with their dismal form during the second half of the last campaign.
