Stoke City striker Tuncay has again been backed to make a major impact at the Britannia Stadium by Potters manager Tony Pulis.

The 27-year-old Turkey international has started just two games since his summer arrival from Middlesbrough and reacted angrily to being substituted in the 2-1 defeat at Hull City last time out.

However, Pulis told The Sentinel:"That was a massive disappointment for Tunny and I think we can all understand that.

"I know he went straight down the tunnel after being subbed, but that just shows that sometimes you are damned if you do and damned if you don't.

"By going down the tunnel people will say he was upset. But if he'd just shrugged his shoulders and sat in the dugout, then people would have said he didn't care.

"For me, his actions showed that he does care. Anyway, that's gone now, because he's since returned to training and I have to say his attitude has been absolutely fantastic.

"As far as I'm concerned it's just a matter of time before be breaks into the team and makes an impact. I've assured him of that and he understands the situation."
