Arsenal midfielder Alexandre Song has committed his future to the club by extending his Emirates Stadium contract.

The 22-year-old, who joined Arsenal from French side Bastia in July 2006, has penned a new "long-term" deal with the Gunners which it is believed will keep him at the club until the end of the 2013-14 campaign.

The Cameroon international has started 74 games for Arsene Wenger's team as well as making 22 appearances from the substitute's bench.

He has been a regular in Wenger's starting eleven this season and also helped his country reach next summer's World Cup finals in South Africa.

Song was named in the Africa Cup of Nations All-Star Squad last year and represented his country at the Beijing Olympics.

Croatia international Eduardo also recently penned a new long-term contract extension with the club.

Wenger had said after Tuesday's Champions League victory against Standard Liege: "We extended his (Song's) contract yesterday. That will be confirmed very shortly. He is an important player, of course."
