Brazil look to have a very bright future. With the Da Silva twins, Breno, Teixeira, Anderson and Pato all making their way in the game they could very well have a team that sets the world a light in a few years.

But one of the starlets that will be making headlines in the future that you may only have just heard of is Sandro Ranieri Guimaraes Cordeiro or simply Sandro.

The young midfielder has been linked with Barcelona and Real Madrid but after Daniel Levy agreed a development deal with his club Internacional, Spurs have first option on their players. And the north London club have not failed to exercise this, attempting to sign Sandro on various different occasions.

In the past couple of weeks the News of the World had claimed that Sandro had been in London to complete a medical ahead of a January move but his club and the player himself denied this. But with Redknapp only having 3 central midfielders in Huddlestone, Jenas and Palacios he will definitely be looking to bolster the position.

Redknapp described him as the ‘modern day midfielder’ but he can also play at center back due to his height (he is 6ft 1) and physical presence so his versatility will be welcome at any club.

Sandro has risen through the ranks at Internacional going from the youth team to becoming an important first team player. So it did not come as a shock when Internacional requested that Sandro be left out of the u20 side that made it to the final of the u20 World Cup in Egypt despite captaining the side for the 2009 South American Youth Championships at the start of the year as well as playing a pivotal role in Brazil’s qualification for the competition held in Africa.

Although he did not answer that call up, he could not ignore the one that followed when Dunga called him into the Brazil squad to face Chile in a World Cup qualifier where he made his debut as a 68th minute sub in a 4-2 win. The fact he has played for the national team puts him in better stead to get a work permit if Spurs do step up their chase, which in all likely hood they will.

Sandro is a strong, hardworking and pacy player with a good engine that makes him an ideal box to box midfielder. Aggressive in the tackle he balances this with excellent close control and technical ability. He is a good passer of the ball and can often be found starting attacks from deep as he has the pace to break out of his holding role.

He is a player of immense potential and ability and if he does move to Spurs will and strength to their team. Brazilians will be hoping he does not turn out to be another Fabio Rochemback as he could be a potential young star at next years World Cup.

He would be a welcome addition to our team , we need more steel in midfield to take the wieght of palacios before it ruins him . Our two english divas are not capable of doing any dirty work so wilson is becoming bogged down while hudd and jenas float around trying to look good ,just not good enough .WE WELCOME YOU SANDRO ,LONG LIVE THE SPURS
