Fulham manager Roy Hodgson is hoping to have star striker Andrew Johnson back in contention for next week's Europa League trip to Switzerland to take on FC Basel.
The 28-year-old frontman has been troubled by a groin injury for some time and has not featured for the Cottagers since early October, but is back in training and close to a recall to Hodgson's squad.
He told the club's official website:"AJ had his first real training session with the ball with (reserve team boss) Billy McKinlay in a smaller group with the development squad.
"Billy was very pleased with the way he came through that and hopefully he'll join in at least 50 or 60 percent of what we do on Friday.
"We may have to keep him away from the real aggressive shooting and finishing for a bit longer and he'll train again on Saturday.
"If all goes well he'll join in with us on Monday and hopefully be available to travel with us to Basel. As you'd imagine, he's champing at the bit."
