Manchester City manager Mark Hughes is growing increasingly tired with the hysterical reports about his future.
A run of seven successive draws has left many pundits predicting that Hughes will be the second Premier League manager, following Paul Hart's departure last week, to be axed this season.
However, Hughes says the speculation is nothing new as he has had to deal with such talk ever since he was appointed City boss 18 months ago.
He was quoted in the Manchester Evening News as saying:"There is a little bit of hysteria, but we are used to it as we have had it on numerous occasions since I took over.
"It seems to be generated at times, and maybe we are in a little period of that. It becomes predictable. We just get on with our work and with making sure we turn things around.
"You see it as predictable, because it is. We have been judged on the amount of money we have spent. I am not surprised by it, and it is not something I lose sleep over. It is predictable when you have a run of results that are frustrating from our point of view.
"We know that as a group we will get stronger as the season progresses.
"Every team of mine is stronger in the second half of the season and I am convinced that will be the case again because the quality and strength in depth we have will allow us to be stronger.
"We are still very much where we thought we would be at this point – we are in the mix, within one or two points of the teams above us, with a game in hand, so we are in very good shape."
