Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Jamie O'Hara could extend his loan stay at Portsmouth until the end of the season.

The 23-year-old midfielder has been one of Pompey's most consistent players so far this season, scoring once in nine appearances since joining the club at the end of August.

New boss Avram Grant has already asked his Spurs counterpart Harry Redknapp if he can keep O'Hara as he attempts to steer the club away from the foot of the Premier League table.

Redknapp revealed:"I spoke to Avram and he said he'd like to keep him if he can.

"I said let's see how it goes and see what happens between now and January.

"He's due to come back in January but there's an option for him to stay – although it's our decision."

O'Hara has made 56 first-team appearances for Spurs and also has experience from loan spells at Chesterfield and Millwall.
