Tottenham Hotspur will be eyeing all 3 points in what should be a home banker for them, but they face a Wolves side that will have a spring in their step after ending their winless run against Bolton at Molineux last Saturday. Spurs will be keen to put the disappointment of losing a 2-0 lead at Goodison Park against Everton last weekend as well as a Jermain Defoe missed penalty and get back on the winning trail. Whilst Mick McCarthy will be looking to turn that victory in Wolves’ last Premiership match into an unbeaten run and ease their relegation fears.
Tottenham return to White Hart Lane for the first time since their 9-1 drubbing of Wigan last month and Harry Redknapp will be looking for more of the same. Spurs still lie 4th in the Premier League table despite dropping 2 points last Sunday and have established themselves as a major contender for Champions League qualification. Their performance in the last 20 minutes against Everton will concern Redknapp, but their failure to hold onto a lead will be forgotten if they can turn on the style at the Lane once again.
Wolves fans will be relieved more than anything to have got the monkey off their back and finally won another Premier League match. Wolves’ nerves in the closing stages against Bolton were there for all to see and they will be hoping that they don’t have to wait that long again for another victory. However, their chances going into the Premiership fixture against Tottenham are slim and they are unlikely to add to their sole away victory in the Premier League, which came against Wigan back in August.
