Stoke City manager Tony Pulis has accused Arsenal counterpart Arsene Wenger of 'moaning like a drain' over the row concerning weakened teams.

Wenger claimed Wolves manager Mick McCarthy had 'damaged the international credibility' of the Premier League following his decision to rest 10 first-team players for Tuesday's 3-0 defeat at Manchester United.

But Pulis has given his support to the embattled Wolves boss after accusing Wenger of double standards.

"Wenger is moaning like a drain because it doesn't suit Arsenal," said Pulis.

"The players Mick played, most of them are seasoned professionals who he has spent decent money on.

"I don't think it was the walk in the park for United that people are suggesting.

"There is one important point here and that is that Mick McCarthy will do whatever he thinks is best for Wolves."
