Liverpool fall victim to more spiteful rumours
Another day and another ridiculous Liverpool rumour circulates’ the press offices around the country with the sole intention to disrupt the mix at Anfield; they seemingly just can’t get enough, although they appear to be getting all the more spiteful.
The latest serving is Dinamo Moscow who reportedly has agreed personal terms with Yossi Benayoun (hardly the Israeli’s style) and to add some ammunition to unsettle the club they have suggested that Hicks and Gillett and the rest of the Liverpool board are looking to force Rafa Benitez’s hand and force him to be sold against his will.
It is the latest in a long list of attempts to try and create a divide between supporters and the board and having been subjected to apparent £100m bids from City for Torres and Steven Gerrard apparently wanting a move to Italy in the past week; it is now Benayoun’s time to court the attention with an unlikely £9m link with the Russian giants. It makes you wonder where they get the motivation and more significantly how these people get employed by these news organisations.
Arsene Wenger has been extremely outspoken with regards to the Press, while old red nose has actually banned Sky reporters from Old Trafford and it begs the question as to how and why the club continue to allow such drivel be written about them and allow Rafa to be exposed to the questions that he has to face in every Press Conference. If I was the PO at Liverpool I certainly would make sure that their questions are vetted and even go down the same route as Fergie and ban certain offending journalists and news organisations that have a clear agenda to rock the boat at the football club. It is time the club took action against the drivel written, especially when all it does is breed uncertainty.

You cannot gag the press; freedom of speech and all that. Where would it stop? Ban any journalist that is critical or has a dissenting voice? Just ignore the gutter press and be selective in your reading. No-one take the tabloids seriously anyway.
