Bolton Wanderers chairman Phil Gartside has vowed to give new manager Owen Coyle money to spend in the January transfer window.

Coyle recently succeeded Gary Megson in the Trotters hot-seat, having opted to leave Burnley to take charge at one of their relegation rivals.

One of the reasons given was an increased budget to work with and Gartside is eager to back up his promise of funds to bring in new players.

He told the Bolton News:"We have never, ever, not backed a manager in the transfer window.

"You go back over the history of transfer windows, we have always done some business and it will carry on that way."

Meanwhile, the Trotters have confirmed that three members of Megson's backroom staff have now also left the club.

Assistant manager Chris Evans, head coach Steve Wigley and assistant coach Alan Cork have all departed the Reebok Stadium.
