Chelsea manager Carlo Ancelotti has backed his side to bounce back from their shock 4-2 home defeat to Manchester City.
Ancelotti's side had won 12 and drawn one of their 13 Premier League games at Stamford Bridge before Saturday's match which also saw the hosts reduced to nine men after Juliano Belletti and Michael Ballack were sent off.
It was Chelsea's fifth league defeat of the season and came on the back of the midweek Champions League loss at Internazionale, but former AC Milan boss Ancelotti said:"We have to look forward and maintain control of our confidence.
"We are still top of the table. It is only by one point but that is not bad. Today is not a good day for us but we have to maintain trust in our quality.
"We are disappointed because we lost an important game. It was our first defeat at home but we made a mistake and usually, if you do, you lose the game.
"I thought we were very good in the first half. We scored at the end of the first half and had a possibility for a second with Lampard and then conceded a goal.
"The second half we lost balance and Manchester City were able to counter-attack."
