Chelsea manager Carlo Ancelotti has backed skipper John Terry to deal with the media focus which is certain to surround the weekend clash with Manchester City at Stamford Bridge.

Terry is likely to come face-to-face with Wayne Bridge, who has stepped out of the international reckoning with England due to recent press reports about his former girlfriend's relationship with his ex-Blues team-mate.

Ancelotti told his club's official website:"I think John Terry is professional and doesn't have a problem to look forward and stay focused on the match.

"He has been putting in good performances. He is in focus and has a good mentality. He has had a fantastic season and will do the same until the end of the season.

"I don't see that his condition went down. I think he is in good condition and he is doing a good job for the team.

"I am sure tomorrow will be Man City against Chelsea and so we have to pay attention and stay in focus on this because Man City is a very good team.

"They have a lot of players with strong quality and I think we have to think about this."
