Bolton Wanderers boss Owen Coyle claims he would take Premier League survival over FA Cup progress against Tottenham on Wednesday night.

The ailing Trotters travel to White Hart Lane for a fifth-round cup replay but with half on eye on their current 18th place in the league table.

Coyle was critical of his side's 'schoolboy defending' after Sunday's 3-0 derby defeat at the hands of Blackburn Rovers left the Reebok Stadium outfit languishing in the bottom three.

"If somebody was to say me 'would you give up the FA Cup to stay in the Premier League?' the answer to that is yes," explained the Scot.

"There's no doubt the priority is to stay in this division and it remains our number one aim.

"But I believe we can stay in the Premier League and progress in the FA Cup.

"Are Tottenham Hotspur the favourites to win tomorrow night? Absolutely.

"Can we go there and win? Of course we can. We'll go there and look to try and take the game to them in a positive manner."
