West Ham United wing-back Julien Faubert retains hope that he may be able to force his way into Raymond Domenech's France squad for the World Cup finals.

The 26-year-old former Bordeaux ace has become a key figure in the Hammers' plans under Gianfranco Zola, but has not featured for Les Bleus since 2006.

However, he retains of hope of impressing Domenech in the coming months.

Faubert commented:"I am 26 now and at that age you do think about the national team.

"When I came to West Ham the France manager didn't think it was a good decision, but I came because it's a nice club and I'm in the Premier League.

"I hope there is still time to go to the World Cup, but if not, maybe I can be in the team after that."
