Wolverhampton Wanderers have allowed striker Chris Iwelumo to join Bristol City on an initial one-month loan deal.

The 31-year-old Scotland international has struggled with injury for much of the first half of the Premier League season, making just two league starts for Mick McCarthy's men.

Iwelumo, who has yet to find the net this term, may extend his time at Ashton gate if he impresses.

City manager Gary Johnson told his club's official website:"We're delighted to be able to bring Chris in.

"He will add vital experience to our strikeforce and he'll provide a presence up top as well.

"We've managed to bring him here for a month initially and we'll take it from there."

Iwelumo moved to Molineux in the summer of 2008 from Charlton Athletic and has since scored 16 goals in 45 appearances in all competitions.
