Wolverhampton Wanderers manager Mick McCarthy has admitted to being hurt at the manner of his side's 2-0 Premier League defeat at the hands of leaders Chelsea.
A Didier Drogba double proved to be the difference between the sides in the Midlands, but with Blues ace Petr Cech the busier of the two goalkeepers, the loss has left a bitter taste in McCarthy's mouth.
With a joint Premier League low goals scored tally of just 21, it was once again a tale of what might have been for McCarthy's men.
He said afterwards:"I thought we should have got something out of the game. I was really annoyed afterwards.
"Someone said 'well done', but I said that wasn't the case, because we got beat when we shouldn't have got beat.
"We had the game by the scruff of the neck by the second half when Cech made two great saves and they were taking the sting out of the game.
"But then we gave away a really bad goal and we might as well have packed in then, because it demoralised us.
"I am not lambasting the performance, it was good but we let them off the hook and 2-0 is not the story of the game."
"I think we matched Chelsea in most departments except from putting the ball in the back of the net."
