Big future ahead for Jack Rodwell?

When young players come through at Premiership clubs, whether they are homegrown or not, they play with that freedom that can only be seen in their age group. Often fielded in Carling Cup games or in specific Premiership games, these players put in that eye-catching performance that immediately gets everyone thinking he is destined for a long and successful career.

To make a name for themselves they will be searching for consistency and breaking in to the first-team will be their goal. Here are ten players who could light up Premiership football over the next year, and beyond.

Jack Wilshere- has appeared as a substitute in league games and has been tipped to reach the top level of footballers. Looks very confident on the ball and is a very accomplished player and big things are expected of him, not only for Arsenal but England as well. Wilshere is current on loan at Bolton and Wenger will be hoping that the experience will stand him in good stead to stake a claim for a regular start at the Emirates next season.

Gael Kakuta- unfortunately for him his name has been at the centre of controversy regarding his move to Chelsea. This should not stop him from being a force at Stamford Bridge. Having been academy player of the year and top scorer, it seems that his skill and ability will see him add a spark to Chelsea’s side.

Vladimir Weiss- has represented his country at senior level already and made an impact with the Manchester City team that won the FA Youth Cup in 2008. Having made substitute appearances in league games it seems a matter of time before he breaks in to the midfield. Like Wilshere, he is currently on loan at Bolton but if he impresses at a relegation threatened club then City could have a top player on their hands for seasons to come.

Kyle Naughton- a strong defender and it is said that he can play anywhere along the right side of the pitch, although right-back is his forte. Has had loan spells so he is getting geared up to making an impact at his club Tottenham. Naughton is currently on loan at Middlesbrough and Tottenham will be hoping that the experience he gets will stand him in good stead to challenge Vedran Corluka for the right-back spot.

Fabian Delph- the Aston Villa midfielder has already attracted attention from Premiership clubs. His dribbling and shooting ability are what makes him stand out and at his previous club, Leeds, he scored the goal of the season with a long run and finish. Under Martin O’Neill’s guidance Delph should have success at Villa. Delph may only be 20 years of age but establishing himself at Leeds, along with various personal awards, will go a long way to helping him become a star.

Jack Rodwell- the goal he scored in Everton’s recent win over Manchester United highlighted the talent of Rodwell. Has made many cameo appearances and next season could be where the Goodison Park faithful see him on a regular basis- providing he does not end up at a top four club as it has been mentioned. He is highly rated and earns rave reviews so if he keeps his feet on the ground then he can play at a high standard for many years.

Nathan Delfouneso- another Aston Villa player ready to shine. Being a striker could help his cause as there are only three other established ones at the club. Has scored goals in the FA cup and in the old UEFA Cup. The signs are good for him to break through to the first-team because he has not been sent out on loan. More signs that Villa clearly see him as part of their future comes from his contract extension which sees him tied with the club until 2012.

Jordan Henderson- currently out with an ankle injury but the Sunderland midfielder is a massive part of Steve Bruce’s plans for the future. Has made several league appearances and could be one of the fans favourite as he was born in the area. Has been on loan at Coventry City where it is said he improved a lot on the technical side of his game. The fact that Bruce gave him a start against Chelsea earlier in the season shows he has the manager’s trust in him.

Chris Smalling- arguably the player who most peoples eyes will be on. The Fulham player will join Manchester United this summer. The defender looks likely to be eased in as a future replacement for either Rio Ferdinand or Nemanja Vidic. Due to the fact that he is playing for a team that is already giving him experience and playing well, he has the opportunity to learn about his game and take it to the next level when he joins United.

Junior Stanislas- the West Ham winger is said to have an all-round game where he has pace, power, shooting ability and good set-pieces. Having been at Upton Park since he was 11, it seems that playing for the first-team is bound to happen. Much like Delfouneso, Stanislas has a long term deal with the club that will see him remain there until at lest 2013. If West Ham’s previous production of young players is anything to go by then he could turn out to be another dazzling youngster to emerge from the Hammers’ prolific academy.

Any glaring omissions and other youngsters that are likely to make a breakthrough next season??

Watch out for Kyle Bartley,(Arsenal) he is currently on loan at Sheffield United, but has improved soo much this season that he is a tottally new player.

Also Cleverly and Lansbury are the best players for Watford. Both should return to Manchester United and Arsenal next season. Both are top players already.

The comments of course have to feature the obligatoy thick rag listing every ManU player he has read about in the soarway scum. Clever bit or writing in the article though. Cherry pick some young players and write a few sentences about them. Guaranteed to get a decent amount of hits.

How on earth do you guys expect us to take this list serious, when you are leaving out the biggest talent of all: Aaron Ramsey?

Liverpool’s youth system is cack, Dani Pachecho is not in the same league as Rodwell, and nor is Ramsey. When was a youth player ever given a chance at Liverpool (Gerrard wasn’t it), at least Arsenal give their kids a chance to shine.
