Former captain Barry Ferguson will make a decision on his Scotland future at the end of the season.
The Birmingham City midfielder has been offered an olive branch by new international manager Craig Levein less than a year after being stripped of the armband and banned from representing his country again.
Ferguson and former Rangers team-mate Allan McGregor were involved in a late-night drinking session before a World Cup qualifier against Iceland before compounding the situation by making gestures while on the bench during the match.
Levein offered to end the midfielder's international exile in the build-up to this week's friendly against the Czech Republic and Ferguson has confirmed he will give a potential return some serious consideration when the domestic season ends.
"I've got to give Birmingham everything I have and then, at the end of the season, I will sit down and think it through," he told STV.
Speaking about his ban which was implemented by the Scottish Football Association, he added:"I was angry the way it happened and the way it was done.
"You get a piece of paper saying you will never play again.
"But the way Craig Levein has dealt with it is great.
"He took time out to have a chat and knows my feelings about the Scotland situation and he took everything into consideration."
