Tottenham Hotspur boss Harry Redknapp has confirmed that Tom Huddlestone could be set for a spell on the sidelines after the former Derby County midfielder had to be stretchered off the pitch during Sunday's 2-1 win against Everton at White Hart Lane.
Huddlestone was replaced by Younes Kaboul in the 52nd minute after being brought down by Everton's John Heitinga.
Initial reports suggest Huddlestone has sprained his ankle, but his absence leaves Redknapp with a central midfield headache as Jermaine Jenas is set to undergo surgery on Wednesday while Aaron Lennon and David Bentley are both currently injured
Redknapp said after the victory that lifted his side back up to fourth in the table:"You're going to miss Tom – he's a top player for us.
"He makes us play and he's a great passer and we needed that when we were going through that dodgy little spell. It was important we tried to get hold of the ball.
"We don't know how bad his injury is at the moment but it doesn't look good. He'll have a scan and we'll see how it is but we're running out of central midfield players – we've only got three anyway. It's not an ideal situation and it's an area we've been light on all season really."
