Birmingham City forward James McFadden is out of Scotland's clash with the Czech Republic on Wednesday through injury.

McFadden was set to start the friendly at Hampden Park before picking up a groin problem during training on Tuesday.

West Brom midfielder Graham Dorrans will deputise for McFadden, who is now a doubt for Saturday's Premier League trip to Portsmouth.

"James won't play," confirmed Scotland boss Craig Levein."He trained today and he felt he was hampered just a little bit by a tight groin.

"I did say to (Birmingham boss) Alex McLeish that I'm not going to put anybody on the pitch who's 75 per cent fit. It doesn't do me any good and it doesn't do the boy any good.

"We left the decision to (McFadden) and he trained today and felt that he just wasn't right so he'll step out and Graham Dorrans will play in his place."
